This guide answers the most common questions about Aihio AI pricing, subscriptions, and billing.


Pricing and Plans

What plans do you offer?

We offer 4 plans:

  • Free – Free, start immediately
  • Starter – €59/mo (or €590/year, save 2 months)
  • Pro – €199/mo (or €1,990/year, save 2 months) ⭐ Most Popular
  • Enterprise – €499/mo (or €4,990/year, save 2 months)

What's the difference between monthly and annual billing?

Monthly:

  • More flexible (cancel anytime)
  • Higher total cost (€59/mo = €708/year)

Annual:

  • Save about 17% (€590/year vs €708)
  • One payment per year
  • Same flexibility (can cancel, we'll refund remaining time)

Recommendation: If you're sure you'll use Aihio AI for at least a year, choose annual billing.

Is there a trial period?

Yes! New users can test paid features for 14 days for free.

  • ✅ No credit card required
  • ✅ Full features during trial
  • ✅ Automatic transition to Free plan after trial (if you don't upgrade)

Message Credits and Limits

What are message credits?

Message credits are a monthly quota of AI messages your chatbot can send.

Example:

  • Starter plan: 2,000 messages/month
  • If chatbot responds 2,000 times in a month → quota full
  • Extra messages require purchasing an add-on pack

When do message credits reset?

Message credits reset on your billing cycle (anniversary-based), not on the 1st of the calendar month.

Example:

  • You subscribed to Starter plan on January 15, 2026
  • Message credits reset on the 15th of each month
  • If you change plans → new cycle starts from that date

Why is this better?

  • ✅ Fairer (everyone pays for the same time)
  • ✅ Consistent with Stripe's billing logic
  • ✅ Easier to audit (you see exactly when grant came)

What happens if message quota is exceeded?

Before reaching the limit:

  • You get a notification when you've used 80% of quota
  • You get a warning when you've used 90% of quota

When quota is exceeded:

  • Chatbot can no longer respond (shows "Credits exhausted" message)
  • You can buy an add-on pack (1,000 messages, €29)
  • Or upgrade to a higher plan

Overages are not charged without your approval – you must purchase an add-on pack separately.

Can I buy extra messages?

Yes! You can purchase the "Extra Messages (1,000)" pack for €29.

  • ✅ One-time purchase (no monthly fee)
  • ✅ Messages added immediately to your account
  • ✅ Don't expire (use whenever you want)

Buy extra messages:

  1. Go to Dashboard → Billing
  2. Click "Buy Extra Messages"
  3. Select amount and pay

Subscription Management

Can I change plans mid-month?

Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade your plan anytime.

Upgrade (Free → Starter, Starter → Pro):

  • ✅ Takes effect immediately
  • ✅ We credit remaining time from previous plan (proration)
  • ✅ Message credits update immediately

Downgrade (Pro → Starter):

  • ✅ Takes effect at end of billing period
  • ✅ You keep current plan until the end
  • ✅ No refund (you use until the end)

Example:

  • Starter plan (€59/mo), 10 days remaining
  • Upgrade to Pro (€199/mo)
  • Pay prorated amount: (€199 - €59) × (10/30) = ~€47 extra
  • Message credits update immediately: 2,000 → 10,000

How do I cancel my subscription?

  1. Go to Dashboard → Billing
  2. Click "Manage Billing" (opens Stripe Customer Portal)
  3. Click "Cancel subscription"
  4. Confirm cancellation

Alternative: If you have a direct Stripe Customer Portal link, open it and follow the same steps to cancel your subscription.

What happens after cancellation?

  • ✅ Subscription stays active until end of billing period
  • ✅ You can use all features until the end
  • ✅ No new charge for next period
  • ✅ Automatic transition to Free plan after period ends

You can reactivate your subscription anytime before the period ends.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, with limitations.

Full refund:

  • ✅ If you cancel within 5 minutes of subscription
  • ✅ Automatic refund via Stripe

Partial refund:

  • ⚠️ If you cancel later → no automatic refund
  • ✅ You can request refund via Stripe (handled case-by-case)
  • ✅ Enterprise customers: Negotiable

Payment Methods and Billing

What payment methods do you accept?

Credit Cards:

  • ✅ Visa
  • ✅ Mastercard
  • ✅ American Express

Other:

  • ✅ SEPA bank transfer (EU area)
  • ✅ Invoice (Enterprise plan only, request separately)

Not supported:

  • ❌ PayPal (coming Q2/2026)
  • ❌ Cryptocurrencies

When am I charged?

Monthly billing:

  • Charged every month on the same day you subscribed
  • E.g. subscribed January 15 → charged on the 15th monthly

Annual billing:

  • Charged once per year on the same day you subscribed
  • E.g. subscribed January 15 → charged January 15 next year

Add-ons:

  • Charged immediately when you purchase
  • No automatic renewal (currently all one-time)

Will I receive an invoice?

Yes! You automatically receive an invoice by email for every payment.

Invoice contents:

  • ✅ Company details (if Enterprise)
  • ✅ VAT breakdown (EU area)
  • ✅ PDF download link
  • ✅ Payment transaction details

Download invoice:

  1. Go to Dashboard → Billing
  2. Click "Manage Billing"
  3. Select "Invoice History"
  4. Click "Download PDF"

Can I update my billing information?

Yes! Update company details for invoices:

  1. Go to Dashboard → Billing
  2. Click "Manage Billing"
  3. Select "Billing Information"
  4. Update:
    • Company name
    • Business ID (if company)
    • Address
    • Email address for invoices

Add-ons

What add-ons do you offer?

Messages:

  • Extra Messages (1,000) – €29 (one-time)

Chatbots:

  • Extra Chatbot – €39 (one-time, currently)

Branding:

  • Remove Aihio Branding – €49 (one-time, currently)

Domain:

  • Custom Domain – €99 (one-time, currently)

Note: Currently all add-ons are one-time. Recurring add-ons (monthly billing) coming later in 2026.

Can I remove an add-on?

One-time add-ons:

  • ❌ Cannot be removed (purchased once, stays forever)
  • ✅ You can upgrade to a higher plan (includes same features)

Recurring add-ons (coming):

  • ✅ Can be removed anytime
  • ✅ Takes effect at end of billing period

Technical Questions

How do billing periods work?

Billing period is the time between current_period_startcurrent_period_end.

Example:

  • Subscribed January 15, 2026
  • First period: Jan 15, 2026 → Feb 15, 2026
  • Second period: Feb 15, 2026 → Mar 15, 2026
  • Etc.

Message credits:

  • Granted at start of each period (when invoice.paid webhook fires)
  • Reset at end of period
  • Not on the 1st of calendar month

Why this model?

  • ✅ Fairer (everyone pays for same time)
  • ✅ Consistent with Stripe
  • ✅ Easier to audit

What happens if payment fails?

Stripe retries automatically:

  1. Day 1: First charge attempt
  2. Day 3: Second attempt (if first failed)
  3. Day 7: Third attempt

If all fail:

  • ⚠️ Subscription marked "past_due"
  • ⚠️ Chatbots continue working for 7 days
  • ⚠️ Then subscription suspended (chatbots don't respond)
  • ✅ When you pay → subscription activates immediately

You get notifications:

  • ✅ Email for each failed attempt
  • ✅ Warning before suspension
  • ✅ Confirmation when payment succeeds

Fix payment:

  1. Go to Dashboard → Billing
  2. Click "Manage Billing"
  3. Update payment method
  4. Stripe charges automatically

For Businesses

Do you offer business invoicing?

Yes! We offer business invoicing for Enterprise plan.

Includes:

  • ✅ Invoice in PDF format
  • ✅ VAT breakdown
  • ✅ Company details on invoice
  • ✅ 30-day payment terms

Request business invoicing:

  • Contact: sales@aihio.ai
  • Or upgrade to Enterprise plan and request invoicing

Can I get a discount?

Volume discounts:

  • Enterprise customers: Negotiable
  • Over 10 chatbots: Let's discuss

Other Questions

Can I transfer my subscription to another account?

Yes, but manually.

Process:

  1. Contact: support@aihio.ai
  2. Tell us:
    • Current account (email)
    • New account (email)
    • Why you're transferring
  3. We verify both accounts
  4. We transfer subscription to new account

Note: This also applies to chatbots and data transfers.

What happens if I close my account?

If you cancel subscription:

  • ✅ Data kept for 30 days
  • ✅ You can reactivate subscription
  • ✅ After period → Free plan

If you delete account:

  • ⚠️ All data deleted (GDPR right)
  • ⚠️ Chatbots deleted
  • ⚠️ No refund

Warning: Account deletion is irreversible. Contact support if unsure.
